Description: Plymouth Woolray is a yarn with a long history behind it; it was made for many years and is a classic suiting yarn. It's a 70% wool, 30% rayon yarn, and presses and blocks extremely nicely.

Description: Berroco Jenny is a stunning multicolor yarn wrapped around a black binder. It's 35% cotton, 30% rayon, and 35% acrylic, and is made in Germany. This particular batch had only ever been out of the bag once: in order to take this photo.

Batch information: This batch is color 1284, Jewel Multi, dye lot 4968. This yarn has been discontinued.

Description: Jacques Fonty Solara is very nearly the same yarn as Crystal Palace Romance. It's made in France (where the Romance was made in Italy). Like Romance, it is loosely spun, and thus has a tendency to pill.

Like Romance, it is loosely spun, and thus has a tendency to pill. This particular lot has blue threads running in amongst the fuchsia, so it's an interesting and complex color.

Crystal Palace Romance - Blue - 5sk click here 5 $15.00

Description: Crystal Palace Romance is my favorite yarn of all time. At one point, I had more than 300 skeins of this yarn. It's a beautiful worsted weight yarn, 50% wool and 50% rayon; the rayon provides sheen and saturated colors that wool alone cannot duplicate. It is loosely spun, and thus has a tendency to pill.

Batch information: This batch is color 4, Cream, dye lot 54109. This yarn has been discontinued.

Yardage: Each skein is 50 grams and 108 yards; this batch of 5 skeins contains 540 yards total.

Paolo Scettri Mosaica - Multi - 16 sk click here 16 $40.00

Description: Paolo Scettri Mosaica is a funky Italian novelty yarn, consisting of 60% wool and 40% acrylic in space-dyed shades of blue, green, and yellow. A black binder thread wraps around the chenille and the wool strand. This yarn was produced by a small Italian manufacturer and imported by Plymouth yarns.

Yardage: Each skein contains 50 grams and 93 yards; each batch of 8 skeins contains 744 yards total. Two batches are available.

Suggested Gauge: Gauge is unspecified, but US 7-8 needles are recommended.

Margarita Mercurio - Silver - 8 sk click here 8 $32.00

Description: Lanas Margarita Mercurio is possibly the rarest yarn in my collection. I've never seen it before my purchase nor since. It's a Spanish yarn company, and the yarn is 46% nylon, 29% rayon, 17% polyester, and 8% viscose. This isn't, strictly speaking, a metallic yarn, but it is shiny like one. It'd be cute as a shell, and it is soft enough to wear against one's skin (unlike most metallics).

Yardage: Each skein contains 50 grams and 98 yards; this batch contains 784 yards total.

Suggested Gauge: Gauge isn't specified (I'd guess 5 stitches/inch), but needle size is: US 5-6 needles.

Recommended Care: Hand wash warm; lay flat to dry. Do not iron.

Description: Filatura di Crosa's Cotton Mouline is a high-grade 100% cotton. This is an exceptional value -- you can use this yarn alone or with the other group I have in another color. This yarn is priced at less than half its original retail price.

Description:Lang Cocoon yarn is a yarn made from 80% silk, 20% nylon. All skeins are from the same dye lot and coordinate with the other two colors I have listed for this yarn.

Final Note

Yet another note: While no one has asked, I feel it should be said: all yarns have been stored in a non-smoking home. I do have a cat, but he's not allowed near the yarn. I keep all my stash in containers (as you can see). I try to keep yarn in its original bagging where possible, which minimizes any possible allergens.
